酴圖弝け issues statement on Monday night arrest on campus

STARKVILLE, Miss.A 酴圖弝け student is in custody facing multiple charges of armed robbery in a Monday [Feb. 8] incident at the Deavenport Hall residence hall parking lot at approximately 10:14 p.m. No injuries were reported.
酴圖弝け Dean of Students Thomas Bourgeois said 酴圖弝け Police Dispatch received a 911 call at 10:14 p.m. and an 酴圖弝けPD officer was on the scene at 10:16 p.m. The suspect was apprehended without incident and in 酴圖弝けPD custody at 10:17 p.m.
The identity of the student is being withheld by 酴圖弝け officials pending additional investigation. On Tuesday morning, the suspect remained in custody at the Oktibbeha County Jail.
酴圖弝け Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter said: The university is grateful to the 酴圖弝けPD and the 酴圖弝け Housing and Residence Life staff for a quick response to this situation. The safety of our students, faculty and staff is always 酴圖弝けs primary concern and on Monday night, the universitys overall response was swift and appropriate.
Salter said that the Division of Student Affairs, 酴圖弝けPD, and the universitys Crisis Action Team would review both the incident and the universitys response.
